Alliance presents new Faro project proposal on October 7 in Utrecht (NL)

UTRECHT / 7 October 2025

On Tuesday, October 7, the third and final Faro initiative day will take place at Kanaal30 in Utrecht. Here, 44 new Faro projects will be presented and discussed. This includes our own initiative Power in our Past’s Future: Fellowship in Community Empowerment through Participatory Research of Afrikan Cultural Heritage

During an informal poster market, all initiators will talk about their proposals. Questions can be asked about their proposals and comments can be left on the posters. During the discussion table, all  initiators will give a short pitch in which they explain how their project will make heritage practice more Faro. This will then be discussed together. The advisory group will ultimately select the initiatives that are eligible for financial support and submit this selection to the Minister of Education, Culture and Science.

Summary of our new Faro Project

Our project wants to set up a Statian-Afrikan Cultural Heritage Fellowship Program. This fellowship program will greatly help local young people (ages 18 to 35) by giving them free access to cultural heritage resources, teaching them cultural heritage skills, and offering mentorship. It will build their leadership and allow them to create positive change in the St. Eustatius community.
